We, in American christian Society, have a very narrow view of the universe. Anything that doesn’t fit within the parameters of the Bible is a lie. Example, Darwinism has to be false because it presumes the earth to be billions of years old rather than thousands.
Anything that does not fit my parameters of God is wonderful because it’s plainly obvious that I do not and will not fully understand God.
Even science admits to itself and anyone who is really listening, that they cannot amass the entire body of knowledge regarding the universe. Yet Christians continue to insist that the entire body of knowledge is the Bible. Uhm… there are lots of holes in there.
The Bible is a wonderful compendium of stories and wonders about God. Some of the stories have been verified by archeology and some have not. So what? My faith does not begin and end with the Bible.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning (did I say beginning?) of wisdom. Therefore, the Bible is the beginning of my Godly understanding.
I am 52, been a follower of the Way for over 30 years and I am just beginning to understand who He is.
God is so much more than my petty musings or small understanding.
Even with the Hubble, we still can’t see God. Wow. God is huger than any of us ever imagined.
