I thought a poetry page would be more appropriate.
So. here it is. No, I don’t do haiku.
Wait. I haven’t written a poem yet.
Shucks.
Humph… still no poem
WHAT! No poems!?!?
The Stranger
I see my eyes in mirror darkly As though some stranger Looking back at me His face – familiar looking Staring stranger still Into my eyes.
Who is this man of old About whom stories n’er be told I think he’s me, Of that I’m sure But he looks fat – if not demure.
I am tested on who I am Tested for what I know
Found myself wanting With nothing to show
I looked up to heaven I saw His face.
Smiled at me dearly I long to go home now.
Darkness is my steed today I ride bareback As we ride, her dark tendrils envelop me With thorny grip I ride
Darkness is my steed today She bucks me off – I fall I climb upon her thorny back She bucks again I fall
Darkness is my steed today We ride together – forlorn I clamp my legs round her thorny ribs She gallops I ride
